Jupiter

I don't think there's anybody alive who has looked into astrology and not smiled when Jupiter comes around. Chuckles We're at pages 184 and beyond... and we're talking about the Good Luck planet.
So we're seeing here that we don't have the circle of Spirit with Jupiter. In essence, what Jupiter is signifying, or what the glyph is signifying is that we are transcending - or we're rising above, and spirit is expanding up and out. When I kind of see the left side of the glyph there I think of the opposite of a cup - rather than being filled up, it's releasing out, it's spilling out. It's like it's upside down, tipping it out. In other words, the Universe has its karmic toy bag and it's just dumping it over your fence, into your backyard. How about that?
Now you can see the distance... So we're getting farther away. Obviously now we're up in the 300 millions and we're - depending on the orbit, around 500 million miles away from the Sun. Pretty cold out there in that territory.
But look at the size of Jupiter. You know, when we talk about the "expansive planet", we're not kidding. 10 times bigger than the Earth. And because of its distance from the Sun, it's orbit takes 12 years. 12-year-cycle; very key number to lock in your mind. Jupiter's orbit is one of the significant cycles of astrology.
Now we're going back to ancient astrology: Now for two rulers, Sagittarius and Pisces.
Yes. Jupiter ruled Pisces in ancient history. So we're taking the opposite of Sagittarius is Gemini. So that's its detriment. Exaltation is Cancer. And it's fall, then, is Capricorn. That makes for an interesting path because when Jupiter moves out of Sagittarius, it goes into Capricorn. So it goes from the sign that it rules into the sign of its fall.
We just had that happen in 2019 & 20, when it moved from Sagittarius into Capricorn. And we know that when Jupiter was in Capricorn, Saturn was in Capricorn, Pluto was in Capricorn and COVID was in Capricorn. Quite a time and we got to witness it. Wow.
So key words to lock onto: expansion. It is the "expansive planet". I love to use just "rabbit's foot". You've got a cosmic rabbit's foot in your pocket - use it! Now it also rules, religion, philosophy and spirituality. So we have to lump those in it is a spiritual planet. And people think about because of the personality of Sagittarius being so gregarious and fun and party and all of that, that it has this really philosophical, religious, spiritual side to it. A lot of pastors, missionaries, gurus, religious leaders will have a strong Jupiter or be Sagittarians as their Sun sign. Another one about Jupiter. Don't forget very important travel. And it also rules the law. We'll get into that when we talk about the ninth house.
Now, Jupiter is not just all rosy. There's a shadow side as well. Whenever we're talking about excess or too much, or overindulgence, we're talking about Jupiter expanding the shadow side, because that's what it does. It takes the shadow and it makes it bigger. It amplifies it. So don't forget about that when you're talking about, you know, just enough is good, but too much is not good.
In the mundane, in the corporate, in the collective it rules religion, courts, law, economics, treaties and borders between countries.
And in medical astrology it kind of rules that area that controls our central nervous system: our spinal cord, our veins, our arteries, moving the blood... Moving that Aries blood, that Sun blood from our heart, and then taking it. It's the infrastructure that runs it through our bodies.
Now some energies to align with obviously growth, expansion.
I like the idea of faith in larger than life ideas. It's when we create and we expand and we see things bigger than we normally would try to take on. It's also personal growth through philosophy, learning how we work, learning how this system works, learning how astrology works. And how we can work within it.
There's another parallel cousin to that. I, I love because this incorporates the traveling that... now it's typically you would use this in Sagittarius, but we'll go ahead and reveal it here and then we'll bring it back in Sagittarius. But to say that you would travel great distances to find your soul. Ah, I love that. Don't forget the travel piece. It's very important when you're talking about Jupiter and Sagittarius. And then this is awesome: "Believing is seeing!" you see it and see it big.
Don't short yourself when Jupiter's around.
